The Process for Bathtub Refinishing, Shower Refinishing, Bathroom Sink Refinishing
- Mask entire area around tub or shower to protect the area from overspray.
- Etch and clean the old surface.
- Spray on a primer coat that dries quickly to prepare for the new top coat.
- Spray 2-3 coats of acrylic polyurethane top coat to cover the old surface – this coating is stronger than automobile paint.
- The new top coat surface must cure for 24-48 hours. Todd’s DOES NOT take shortcuts or use ‘quick cure’ additives.
- With proper cleaning and care, the tub or sink will provide years of use and enjoyment!
NOTE: Stripping of previous inferior resurfacing done by other companies is provided at an additional cost.
Refinishing Time Required (estimated)
1. 1st Visit: 5-6 hours
2. 2nd Visit: 1-2 hours – all refinishing work requires a 24-48 hour cure time, when the tub cannot be used.

Clawfoot Tub & Pedestal Sink Refinishing In Our Mesa Shop
- Sand blast and prime coat the under surface to prepare it for a new top coat.
- Prepare the interior surface of the tub or sink by etching and sanding.
- Spray on a primer coat that dries quickly to prepare for the new top coat.
- Spray acrylic polyurethane top coat to cover the old surface.
- After a 24-48 hour curing period, the surface is buffed to achieve the best luster of the new top coat.
Bathroom Sink & Countertop Refinishing
Todd’s will refinish laminate and tile countertops in your kitchen or bathroom with an acrylic polyurethane top coat, using the same process as shown above in refinishing. Choose from a selection of colors and multi-stone finishes.
Warranty for Refinishing
Todd’s provides a 5 year non-transferable limited Warranty on refinished bathtubs and showers. A signed contract is require for the warranty to be effective. Some exceptions may apply. BEWARE of a company that provides a warranty longer than they have been in business – Todd’s has honored its warranties since 1978. Todd’s can apply a slip-resistant coating to tub or shower floor. We also install a 5 or 6 foot curved shower curtain rods for extra shower width or an 84” handheld shower hose. We sell an imported bathmat to clean your tub, shower, tile and countertops!
